Finger Knitting Part 2: Pinterest Discovery
I have made the wonderful discovery of Pinterest this week, which has opened up a world of written and illustrated instructions on how to finger-knit the blanket of my dreams in 2 hours! Seems a bit courageous for a first-time knitter, but I can't wait to try it out.
I am hopeful that this week I can get to the store to purchase yarn and get started, but truthfully, the assignments and readings are starting to get heavy, and raising a 2.5-year-old boy alone can be rather time-consuming and exhausting, but I am trying and doing my best!
I love that the new resources I have found on Pinterest include written and image instructions. Being able to see which step I need to do now and which step is next is super helpful for me compared to the fluidness a video tutorial can have when an experienced knitter gets started. The written instructions also seem to have a lot more little tips and tricks in them than the videos do, which I personally find helpful as a beginner!
I am excited to get started on this journey making blankets, and who knows what else! I only have one question really: How on EARTH will I ever choose which colour(s) I want to use?

I love Pinterest! I think that it is a really cool source for inspiration. It does seem very courageous to try to knit a blanket in two hours! I like the tips and tricks that you included and I hope to hear if they worked throughout your blanket journey. Goodluck!

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this post. Your reflection on using Pinterest and preferring written and visual instructions as a beginner clearly shows thoughtful awareness of how you learn best. I also appreciate your honesty about balancing school and parenting. I’m looking forward to seeing how your finger knitting project develops.
